Colorado has always been home for this native Denverite, although I have to admit I enjoyed living in Durham, NC and Boston, MA in the past. I like to move around, and I travel often, partly because I know I have such an amazing place to come back to.
I have always loved the outdoors, perhaps because my dad put me on skis before I could walk. Okay, maybe that’s exaggerating a little. But, just to give you another idea, we also built an ice hockey rink in our backyard for a couple of winters. In my free time, I like to trek and backpack and hike with my girlfriend and my dogs. I am also a casual road cyclist. I used to bring my mountain bike up the hill on a chairlift and do crazy down-hill, but sadly I am no longer an invincible teenager.
I attended the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University and earned a degree in Philosophy and French at the University of Colorado – Boulder. However, when I found out that Descartes was really the last person to make any money in the industry, I decided to branch out into something a little more practical. Now, I use my language skills to translate between tech talk and lawyer speak. – Latin still helps ; )
I have been in the Legal/IT industry for over 15 years, and I half-jokingly claim to be everything but an attorney. I started out as a part-time file clerk and have worked for both law firms and legal departments as a secretary, legal assistant, paralegal, office manager, you-name-it. I am proudly self-taught in many of the things I do, and I think it makes me a better teacher because I am good at finding creative ways to learn things. I am an expert in all things Worldox. As a Microsoft Certified Trainer, I specialize in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Being a part of the DCNC team means a lot to me. It’s nice to have a second home where we work to ensure that every interaction creates success!
